How easy is it to cut they without them cracking? I want to connect two of them and make a bigger house for my red foot. Is there a different type of tub with a more durable plastic?

Try the ones from tractor supply company. Its more flexible plastic and bigger. Easy to cut with a box knife and will not crack.

Im not sure we have those around here. Would a feed store have them, we do have a random feed store nearby.

The feed store might, similar idea. In any case, they often have other handy things like brooder lights, etc., so you will get a feel for supplies that you can purchase there.
