This is the enclosure i built for my russian tortoise in my back yard of my apartment complex. Ajy suggestions? He gets plenty of sun and shade and alot of space to walk.

I would lay some pavers or bricks along the fence line. Your tortoise can easily dig out from under there. Also, the branches or whatever those are the go up over the cinderblocks give your tortoise a very easy way to escape. Russians are escape artists so you have to work hard to make their pin secure.

Oh yeah i been wanting to lay out some bricks to prevent digging. So far he hasnt climbed the branches, but ill remove them from the edges. Thanks!

My russian can climb where the two cinderblocks meet in a corner. I have watched her do it many times :) cap your corners!

I would add something they could hide in, looks like there are some stones next to the plant in the left hand corner but there's a branch in it. He definitely has shade, but he's kind of exposed.

I think that's a great space for a single Russian. Make a few mods to prevent climbing out (more of a possibility than digging out) and maybe add a water dish.

Also, keep it at just the 1 tortoise ;) you'll be (and he'll be) glad you did :cool:

Thank you. Yeah this picture was when i first built it about 2 months ago. I put a water dish right away:)
