Plantsnap id'd as Marsh Thistle. Anyone have experience with feeding this plant? Are all thistles safe to feed?

Thy are all safe.

We have one here in California that has spines so large and sharp I can’t pick them without getting punctured; it’s the only one I won’t feed.My tortoise could actually probably manage but I can’t.

If you can pick it without hurting yourself, I’d give it a shot.

Just hurts us to pick them but safe for a tortoise to eat. I passed on one the other day bc it was just too painful. I didn’t feel like looking for gloves. Those spines though look HUGE. I’d be worried they’d poke their eye or something. They are probably fine to eat them though. I just worry too much sometimes.

If I can’t grab and pull it with my bare hands, I pass. A little pain and scratching is okay but not more than that.
