I realize there are strong opinions on the legitimacy of sub-species... so without ruffling any feathers, I'd am trying to determine the adult size of a p. pardalis. I have found so much conflicting information I was hoping I could get some more reliable advice here. Thanks!!

Females typically reach 30-40 pounds. Occasionally 45-50 on a really old big one. Most males are similarly sized, but you get an occasional giant of 60-75 pounds.

thanks Tom... so "reaching lengths of up to 33 inches, and weights over 100 pounds" might be far reaching?

South African leopard tortoises are generally larger. The largest a said to be animals from ethiopia and somalia. In several different tortoise species size is adult is variable . Large and small adults in the same area as with people. The ethiopian giant leopards are most related to the nearby Kenya leopards. Though the Kenya Leopards are said to be on the small size-males 10" and females 12"
