Hello all,

I had a couple of really quick questions, from reading through all the guidance sheets.

In terms of measuring a sully, do you measure from head to tail over the top of their shell to get their size or underneath end to end?

At what sort of age does a tort become a juvenile, and then an adult?

I'm reading through all the care sheets to build a better enclosure for them, and realised I wasn't too sure on these basics!

Place a tape measure up against the wall then place the tortoise next to the tape measure. You measure in a straight line front to back:

I like to call them "hatchling" for the first year, then yearling. After they reach 2, I call them juvenile and when they're almost full grown, adult. I'm afraid each of us has our own perception of this.

Great thanks - I completely missed that thread when I searched, sorry! Sounds like my two are juveniles in that case :)
