What is the correct way to measure the length of a tortoise? Is it from underneath end of shell to end of shell? I think it is but want to be sure. We're trying to keep up with their growth rate. Thanks

This is how most of us do it.

Using that method, I was off about 1/4 inch on all of them. Weird how that worked out. Lol

I use a caliper to measure straight carapace length (SCL). I rubberized the metal tips so that they wouldn't feel harsh against the tortoise's shells.
