Hey guys,

I had the privilege of incubating a 32 egg Common Snapping Turtle nest that was collected on June 8th of this year. I received a call from a concerned person who witnessed the nest being laid in a very busy ATV/dirt bike area.

I incubated the nest at 81 degrees, and humidity hovered between 70 and 80%. This was my first time using my huge homemade incubator, and it did a wonderful job. I couldn't be more pleased with it.

The eggs began hatching a few days ago, and 28 have now hatched. Check out this video if you would like to see/hear more.

Thank you,

Anthony[/align]

Thanks guys! It was weird to have such a big clutch hatch. The most I had ever hatched in one clutch before was four, since I work with so many species that lay small clutches.

We released them yesterday, without feeding them. It felt good. Hopefully some of them make it. Maybe a release video soon.....

I had the gentleman who found the nest come out with me to release them. He was so excited. That was the best part by far.

Thanks guys.

Thanks everyone! I am finishing up a video of their release. That will be live on youtube tonight. I like it more because you get to see them all heading to the water.
