Since many turtles hibernate underwater, and most turtles hibernate at temps of around 50 or lower, some might be able to survive for a very long time underwater if it is cold enough.

Great information and good to know. I have a friend that lost some box turtles last Summer due to flooding. This might have helped.

Knowing first aid, for turtles, dogs, and humans is always a good thing. You hope to never need it, but in an emergency, it is far better to know some helpful basics than to run around terrified and flustered.
