    Skin coming off on back legs

    Short story is both torts (sulcatas) have skin coming off on their back legs and where its coming off its a little raw but no blood.     Torts attacked by Fire ants :(

    My tortoises got attacked by fire ants tonight, one of them looks fine but the others eye is swollen . Any advice until i can get these guys checked out in the morning by a vet ? I am soaking them now.

    Poor torts

    Sulcatas. I had it in the 70's when it got to low 50's but it got to low 40's outside last night. I think am going to keep them inside for the winter. I will build something a lot more effiecent by next winter.

    My outdoor enclosure got down to the 50s when I went and checked on them this morning. I brought them inside. I guess I am going to build an indoor tort table for these really cold days.

    Stubborn Outside Torts

    So just an update on my stubborn torts, I boosted the heat in the heated part of the enclosure , made some better hides, and kept moving them every night to the heated/covered side before I went to bed. This whole week before I went to bed they were already where they needed to be.
