I just recently stumbled upon Vita bugs while on a trip to petco, and was wondering if they are actually better for my eastern box?

I bought the wax worm meal worm combo pack. The package says to feed mealworms for high protein and wax worms for the higher fat. They also sell a product called calciworms which are supposed to eliminate the need for dusting or gut loading.

Anyone have any experience with this company?

Are we talking live bugs or canned?

Sorry they are live bugs. I went to the website and looked into it they claim they are the premium feeder insect. Kinda like there are premium dog and cat foods. The website says they are more nutritionally sound then your typical feeders bought from your local pet stores.

I don't recall if I've used insects from that particular company but Calciworms is just a fancy/trade name for black soldier fly larvae. If you're so inclined, they're literally one of the easiest feeder insects to raise.

I read about the calci worms and everything I've seen says they are a great staple feeder. Seems strange I've never heard of them considering they have a perfect balance of phosphorous to calcium and have anti viral/anti bacterial properties. The article I read even claimed there have been cases where calci worms helped reverse MBD. I'm just a little skeptical cause no one ever mentions calci worms as a staple feeder it's always meal worms or crickets.

REALLY?! Thank you! I'm starting a compost/worm bin and wanted to use Soldier Flies because of how easy they are. I didn't know that Calci-worms were the larvae! Haha I've been giving my guys soldier fly larvae without ever knowing.

Yeah seems like these calciworms are pretty awesome. They seem to be a great choice for my hatchling eastern box. I've been struggling to get him to eat red wriggles and earth worms. He loves meals worms though. So I bought the vita bug combo pack of meals and wax worms I think I'm gonna try the calci worms too. I'm always worried he's not getting enough calcium.
