I to was having problems and zeropilot pointed out exactly what was needed. I have a 75 watt heat lamp hanging and the t5ho set 12 inches above shell point. Until I put the t5honin my tortoise would not even come and bask.

I wouldn't feel comfortable leaving him outdoors in Louisiana. To much unstable weather and not to mention the predators.

Does it have any flowers. I have so many different types of weeds in my yard and absolutely have no idea what they are. Never really paid attention until I got my tort.

Russian about 5 yrs old. Shell is about 5 inches. Turnip green, mustard green, romain. Nothing real hard.

Thanks, I guess their beaks are stronger than I thought.

Is it ok for my Russian tortoise to est the stalks that comes with the greens. They hold alot of water and would like to keep them with the leaves if possible.

Tonight was alot smoother than last night. If it means anything I have only been having my tort for three weeks. The first 2 weeks he did not eat anything but we did soak him every night. He started eating last Monday and he really just started to really poop normal. We feed him romain, turnip...

Right now his diet consists of romain lettuce, turnip greens and mustard greens. Every other day I take a zoomed pellet and put it on his food for fiber.

Wow, I soak him everyday and watch him drink. I even wash his greens and leave the water on them.
