Yes, the oranges and "butterscotch" colours on this male are stunning, aren't they? The lady who adopted them from us has a 40-year history with this species, and he was instantly her "all-time favourite" male 3-toed that she had ever seen.
After we rescued him from appalling conditions, it was like he was JOYFUL to be alive- running, climbing, coming back and circling my feet every time I watched him and his sib in the yard- he had a new lease on life, and freedom to run and feel the sun on his body, and you could tell he was just happy to be alive...
I wish I could just shut down the horrible places that kill these amazing animals and throw them out with the garbage because they have no idea how to house, feed, and care for them in their "holding tanks"...
