When I had fish I went from 1 gallon to 5 gallons to 20 gallons to 50 gallons. And if the tortoise bug haven't bitten me who knows where it would've stopped :) The tank had to go to make room for the tortoise but it was a lot of fun to have, and amazing what little maintenance it takes once you do get it set up right. People kept telling me that the bigger the tank the less work it was which doesn't make sense until you actually do it.

Mine I have never had to "clean" it either and I only have guppies! I occasionally wipe down the glass etc and that's about it! I'm looking for a good bottom feeder, still, though.

I had some jeweled and albino Cory cats that worked well for that.

Thank you! I probably only need one or two. I try not to buy from petco etc because last time I did it killed off 75% of my fish... I'm having a hard time finding them since we don't have small local shops. I also want to add a few more female guppies and am having the same problem.

I have a couple different guys that clean up stuff. I have 3 different algae eaters, 1 does the plants and such, he is real little and cost like a dollar, can't remember the name and the other 2 do the glass, big decor and some of the bottom, can't remember what the call them either

This is the last two I explained.
Now the best thing I have found to clean my bottom, all the rocks and stuff are Cory cats. I have the albino and the emerald ones. They so a super job.

This what the emerald one looks like. Their not the prettiest things but man they do what you need them to

I get some of mine from the local petsmart but I bring them home, put them in my own bag with a dose of broad spectrum medication, and i don't have a problem anymore. I started doing it this way because I had some petsmart fish kill out my whole tank once.

That big black one is called a pleco. The Cory cats are great, I had five of them in a 50 gallon aquarium. You can put snails on the glass but some fish will eat them, I found that out the hard way my tiger barbs loved them

Ya I had a girlfriend give me some plants 6-7 yrs ago when I had my 55 gallon and the plants had snails in them, oh my gosh it was a nightmare. I had little tiny snails absolutely everywhere. I ended up having to take the entire tank down, I bleached all the fake decor, threw out a all the live plants, baked the rock, had to break my filter down and clean it all out, oh never again will I attempt the snail thing.

Love seeing everyone's tanks!

Here is my 37 gallon. It has 2 angelfish (the gold one has a mustache and looks like Groucho Marx if you look close) and a blue ram.

Also not really a "tank" but my 100 gallon "pond". It has 6 fantails in it.

Its pretty easy once you get it going. I probably have about $2500 invested in this tank. I did all the plumbing for the filtration to the sump myself so that saved a little money. I have had it running just over a year, lost some fish and some corals, but I just keep on truckin.

Its a cool little tank, and I enjoy watching it.

I havent done a water change in over 3 months, I just top off with RO/DI water.

I rearranged my live rock, and had a little mini cycle start, so I figured might as well do a 20% water change.

Well, this is a super fun post idea!! I don't have any good recent photos handy. But here are a couple I like of my kids and my 60 gallon (sides of the tank are cut off from the photo). This tank has a kitchen themed décor, because it is located at a pass-through window between my kitchen and dining room. I have three goldfish in the sixty gallon. I have a pretty big love for goldfish and my family is giving these guys enough room to grow to nearly their full size. They've actually doubled in size since I took these photos.

I also have a love of teapots. So, goldfish and tea pots are the exact combination to make me happily "geek out":)

I have a small crawfish tank too, that really needs to be upgraded. He's outgrown his little 20gal and we'll have to get him a bigger one. I took this photo just after he molted. His empty shell is lying in the foreground of the photo. It looks like a dead crawfish!:)

I never bought my fish at Petco or Petsmart. I was lucky that we had a local pet shop here in town. I heard too many stories about people buying fish at Petco etc., bringing it home, and their whole tank dying. so I guess it may be worth it to drive an hour, although that's a long time to bring them back home. If the medication thing works I would say go for it it's worth it in the long run. Cheaper too :)Corey cats seemed pretty hearty and they are kind of fun to watch.
