I buy the biggest container of Zoo Med Grassland Tortoise Food that Amazon sells. Trouble is, it's not fresh. So when I put it in a cup of water in the fridge overnight, there are still little hard unabsorbed balls in the center of each pellet.
So I was reading my label to see if it says anywhere when it was packed, wondering if I would be able to buy a fresher package off the Zoo Med site, when I spied a very tiny sentence at the very bottom of the label that I needed to get my magnifying glass to read:
It's that very bottom sentence printed in white. Here's what it says, "Pyramiding is NOT normal and is likely caused by poor diet (high protein/low fiber) and low humidity."
Yea!! We're starting to make a dent. But they only get a partial score. . . but then who knows? Maybe high protein and low fiber do contribute. But YEA!!! LOW HUMIDITY!!!!!
