Hello! My name is Traci and I am new to this forum. I have an eastern painted and a mississippi map turtle. Me and my boyfriend love them to death and we are now planning on getting a new baby tortoise!

We would like it to be about 5-10 inches or so as an adult, and would also like it to be fairly easy to care for since we are new to tortoises. I think we are going to have to keep an indoor enclosure for most of the year. Does anyone have any suggestions for us?

Thanks!!

to the forum! I think a Russian tortoise would be a good first tortoise.

Hi tmacc0, Welcome to the forum, Russian, Hermanni or Greek are fairly easy first or beginner torts and are fairly easy and have similar care some Hibernate some do not. So if that is something you want or don't want them to do it is something to concider. Where you are located is a place to start? USA, UK, etc. Lots of good info in the areas here on the form that cover each species. Good Luck.
