I will be getting a greek tortoise soon and I have everything settled but its food. I have a formula and calcium supplements for about 5% of its dish but the other 95% I plan to have some organic mixed bulk spring mix from Costco.

my question is, would there be any better food than that? and also could I pick some dandelions and include the flower and stem in its dish?

Yes on the dandelions. As big a variety of food you can offer the better. I don't k ow much else about what they eat. However you can check on the tortoisetable.org for edible plants, flowers, weeds, etc.

It may try, just keep an eye on it, if he is constantly trying, or successful...I would switch to real plants.
