They are dead when the siblings eat them. If this happened when they were alive I would see it happen as it would be happening all the time. In other words its different because they do it to the dead! On another note this only happens when they are only a few days old, after that if one dies they do not eat them. Vic

All is well with these little buggers. I have sold 5 so far and that's all I am ridding of. Kinda ticked that I even sold them really. Only did it for financial Capitol to acquire some cuora flavomarginata but the guy sold them to someone else during the transaction. Oh well. The rest stay. Anyways. These guys are doing great. They love hard boiled duck eggs.

Remind me sometime to tell the story of how I incubated, in an actual incubator at 87 degrees, plugged into the wall for 4 months....a golf ball. You, Kelly on the other hand are really doing something. I'm so impressed.
Now, remember, I used to head start clutches for my sister. I am good with babies. I started one of her Manouria emys emys (Emmie) when she was a hatchling and wouldn't eat. I had her for about a year, I think. So send me some babies....

Well I kept 4 from this bath and traded 3 to another member who hatched some. So have 2 bloodlines I will be keeping to raise up. In about a year or two I will scope them to see what sexes came out. Hopefully even ratios. Will be a long long road ahead before seeing these guys produce. But will be worth the wait.

Awesome Kelly. How long do you think it will be until they are able to reproduce again? 12+ years? Very nice that you have multiple bloodlines now.

Yes indeed. I tried to add a 3rd bloodline but things came up. So these will do for now. I'm not sure. Other keepers have seen captives take 15-18 years to begin laying fertile eggs. Time will tell. For now the 6 are doing quite well. Growing a lot. Dirty little guys that favor soaking like the adults.
