Don't mean to hijack thread but I have a pair of 3 yr. olds .
Male is right @ 10 inches & female is 8" .
How old do they need to be b4 they reach breeding size?
Manouria take quite a while to mature. The older the better. Your looking around 15-16 years in captive animals to reproduce successfully and better higher results the older they are.

Males will breed as young as 4 years old. But will shoot blanks. Females need to be around 25-30 pounds to start developing ova. So be patient it takes a whole with Manouria.

Is it true that emys will try to protect their nests? Many years ago, I was told that they are the only tortoise that will.
