I want to use the Habitat heater outside this year, but not sure about this product. Frank has a half plastic garbage can hide and he burrows down a bit, but it is reinforced so he can't get too far. The lows are dipping into the high 50's next week and I thought I would try the heater. I will not be raining, and humidity should be less than 90%, in accordance with the safety precautions. I was just going to lay it on top of the dirt.

has anyone used this outside?

HA! HAHA! I wish it was the high fifties......

Either way, I wouldn't be worried about it, except I would get a thermostat to regulate it.

I don't know that kind of heater. However, deff use a thermostat and I would be very careful that the torts can't break it and that the torts or rain can not get the connection wet.
