What foods does your tort (or torts) like and dislike? I've discovered this myself with what always gets left after the meal, and what will get eaten first every time. Thought this could be fun.

Tort type:
Russian Tortoise

Likes:
-cactus (he can sniff it out even if it's hiding at the bottom)
-radicchio
-purple leaves in spring mix
-baby sprouts of Chia and/or Clover (from RT seed mix)

Dislikes:
-carrots
-carrot greens
-leaves with a thick stalk as his jaw is too little for them; he'll eat around the stalk though

Just a note: People may be listing some foods that may be inappropriate for some species, so please take note of that! Hopefully this can be a fun thread.

Dale, my sons Cherryhead loves Dandelions and Radicchio and figs and strawberries. I've tried but cannot get him to eat much Chard or Mustard Greens or even much Kale. The thing that seems to be his favorite is Orange, Red and Green Bell Peppers. Still trying new things everyday because he is new to us. So far I have spent a small fortune on organic veggies and fruits and the cat food that he won't seem to touch. He also likes hard boiled eggs. :p

Cuttlebone eating machines. I am going through 3 a week!

Dislikes:
Anything that moves too fast for them to eat, i.e. anything not a plant :)

10 yr olf Nigel (Jordanian Greek) LOVES Peppers...any color. He also likes grapes (rare rare treat :p)

Its funny though...he hates chard. (red and green, but more the red) and will leave red lettuce on his plate and pick around it.

He also doesn't like banana. I tried some on him when we first got him, as a trust thing (as in, you should like me, look at the great food I come with lol) and he took like one nibble and turned his face away. I thought bananas were supposed to be this big treat for them lol, and he was like, no thanks. (Guess he doesn't have a sweet tooth)
