I quarantine at least a year to make sure there are no diseases introduced to my herd and at least one vet visit! So can you trust where he came from that he was alone for a while,How long did the last owner have him for, maybe you don't need to quarantine for that long. I some times wonder about this quarantine business. Its safe to just say quarantine everything, but where is the line drawn really. The 2 extremes are probably:-
1. A wild caught tortoise that could be carrying alsorts and must be quarantined and vetted.
2. A tort that has been alone all of its life in good care. Surely this in effect has been quarantined all its life.
Maybe some experienced tort owners could expand on this subject.
I have no doubt at all you are wanting to get all your torts together asap.
Bet your over the moon at the minute.
I understand that some don't quarantine at all or do so for a shorter period. congrats on the beginnings of a breeding colony's! Be prepared for a ton of eggs and the ultimate test in patience.
