Never mind the bulbs. Although its true for tortoises, I see the pic was actually for chickens. No, too much of an open top. Also looks like they are using mercury vapor bulbs and they have been ruled as bad pyramiding causing bulbs.
do you have a pic of this ,just wondering how to keep a tort in a green house with a tarp floor ,not being negative at all just can't get the pic in my headNever mind the bulbs. Although its true for tortoises, I see the pic was actually for chickens.
For under 50 bucks you can get a pop up portable green house. Some have floors most don't. Buy a cheap tarp to use as the floor. Lights and heat can be hung from the frame and you have a cheap closed chamber.
Yeah can you show me the link to get this green house?Never mind the bulbs. Although its true for tortoises, I see the pic was actually for chickens.

Very easy. The green houses sit on top of the tarp. I had two large female leopards in a large pop up greenhouse with a tarp floor. Because they were large torts I taped the tarp to the outside of the greenhouse incase they tried to push under the greenhouse frame.do you have a pic of this ,just wondering how to keep a tort in a green house with a tarp floor ,not being negative at all just can't get the pic in my head
Thank you very much for the help that was very nice of youI think wellington may mean something like this which some members who have open tables have bought to put over them to try to control the heat and humidity. If you do a search for mini portable or pop up greenhouses you'll see various types.

Are these greenhouses only for outdoor use or inside too?Very easy. The green houses sit on top of the tarp. I had two large female leopards in a large pop up greenhouse with a tarp floor. Because they were large torts I taped the tarp to the outside of the greenhouse incase they tried to push under the greenhouse frame.
I have used fhe kind Lyn W posted, a tall 10x12 one and also the kind that comes with hard plastic sides and soft plastic top.
They use them indoors over their tort tables because open tables/enclosures let a lot of heat and humidity escape so it is a way of combatting that. Are these greenhouses only for outdoor use or inside too?

Thanks again for all the helpThey use them indoors over their tort tables because open tables/enclosures let a lot of heat and humidity escape so it is a way of combatting that.
If you go through the enclosures threads you may find pictures, I found this example from by using the search facility

I have considered this idea but thought it would be wrong. Would a pop up greenhouse work if the lights are hung inside? Also would putting a pop up greenhouse over/ around a watering trough be the same concept to keep ins humidity and heat?Never mind the bulbs. Although its true for tortoises, I see the pic was actually for chickens.
