We have a female sulcata that we were told was around 10. She just started doing this new thing and we are trying to find out if there is a reason. she sits down and front feet goes on tiptoes then she moves side to side lifting her front feet off the floor. We have seen her do it 2 times but there don't seem to be a reason. Is it something they do when they want to mate?

Anything protruding from the tail area when this happens?

We'd have to see a video to give you anything definitive.

Pics of the underside showing the tail and anal scutes will also give us clues.

Our daughter said she thought she saw something protruding. I will try to get a video.

It sounds like you've got a male. Most people think all of them are female when they are juveniles. They don't begin to display the male secondary sexual characteristics until they put on some size and age.
