Burmese Stars are almost not found in Burmese soil at all. Why CITES still listed it as Appendice II? Strange!

It's called Appendix 2, not Appendice 2. :p Burmese stars are found in Myanmar, which is also known as Burma, so they are found on Burmese soil. A lot of other turtles such as critically endangered Cuora species are also placed on Appendix 2, and the Yangtze giant softshell (which has only 4 individuals alive) is placed on Appendix 3 (get that). CITES has more to do with the country's law enforcement. For example, Batagur baska is placed on Appendix 1 because India has very strict laws about trade and removal of wild species. Another similar species, Batagur trivittata is native to Myanmar but since Myanmar has weaker laws it's placed on Appendix 2.
