I'm in love with Burmese stars but the price seem to be triple of Indian or Sri lankan. Why is this?
Are Burmese stars harder to keep?
Is that why i can't find hatchlings for sale anywhere?

Supply and demand. There simply are not as many Burmese Star tortoises in the world as Indian or Sri Lanka stars. That would be the main difference in price.

Burmese star tortoises are critically endangered and rarely bred in captivity, the demand is tenfold that of the regular stars, etc.....I have actually never seen a hatchling for sale, only adults.

Indians, sri lankans, burmese. Not so different as people seem to think. Certainly not entirely different species...More like slightly more advanced localities of red foots.

Sorry, but you're mistaken. Platynoda and elegans are two different species.

Argue with yourself.

Just like Tom :). Argue out of ignorance and assume you know everything ....Being that I had this conversation with a geneticist...My feelings are contrary to what you BELIEVE you know.
