I have noticed that often, hatchling Sulcata tortoises are much lower priced than other tort species. Why is that?
I believe that the prices are cheaper because they have more offspring and their may be a lot of breeders out there competing for business, they are cheap to buy depending on the type of the Sulcata babies. Just remember, You will spend more money than you thought you would if you plan on raising a healthy tortoise. But if your looking to buy one, there are a few breeders here on TFO that I hear.

Female sulcatas lay quite a few eggs in one clutch, and they lay two or three clutches a year.

They shouldn't be. People fail to realize how big some tortoises get and don't plan ahead for it.People always seem to buy them and neglect them or want to get rid of them as they grow.
