I observed white spots on Herbert shell today. This is my first time taking care of a Tortoise. I am worried and hope she is ok... Please advise.

I have attached few pics.

The only white spot I see looks like a flake of paint or bit of paper. It looks like something you can scrape or wash off of the tortoise.

I tried soaking with warm water and scraping off but does not come out... it does not look like something is stuck...any think else you can think of?

Maybe a better picture would help us determine if it's anything to worry about.

Looks like a scratch or a chip. Nothing too serious, I don't think.

Doesn't look like a chip from what I can see. It seems to be on top of the carapace. If so it should wear off eventually.
If it is a chip, it'll smooth over to some extent as the tortoise grows, but may leave a mark.
Still don't think it's anything to worry about.

That is a spot of old dead bone. You can chip it off with your fingernail.
