White lines in between the scutes

That is exactly what I like to see! White lines are good active, very new growth. I watch to see if it is then filling in smooth and even to the "older" part of the scute adjacent. Your tortoise is very nice and has been growing very smooth. This newest growth coming in appears to be indicating some beginning of pyramiding. You may want to just check that the enclosure is nice a humid and there has been no change in the past 3 months that would have caused this (drier conditions). This tortoise looks to me like one that was growing very nice, but the past few months has been kept drier????

A slow down in growth followed by a new spurt can also cause a ridge. That could be what this is, but I would be watching and reviewing conditions to be sure.
