Please help I have had this tortoise for a little over 3 years now but today I noticed 2 peeling spots on the bottom of my tortoise's shell. When I looked at it bits flaked off. Please help I am very worried.

That is badly damaged portions of the plastron. Looks like its burned. Do you have a heat mat you are using?

To me it looks like old shell rot that has healed and the old, damaged keratin is now flaking off showing new shell underneath. Wouldn't hurt to treat it as if it were active. Take a tooth brush and scrub it clean with antibacterial soap, rinse it and dry it well, then apply athlete foot cream all over it. Because it's on the bottom and will make contact with the dirt, I would put some gauze over it and tape it with masking tape. Take it off and do the same thing daily until it's healed or stops peeling.

Mine has it too, It was there when I got him. It is not as bad as that, but I have no clue what it is. It doesn’t effect him.
