Hey folks!

Question for y'all. My russian tortoise, (who lives outdoors in her 10x8 tortoise pen by herself) has some weird white coloration on the marginal part of the shell. My sister is caring for her at the moment back home while I am out of state. She sent me these picks and I haven't seen anything like this before.

Any ideas?

Let me know of any other info I can give!

Luke

He has either rubbed on something that shed white on him.
He has developed a fungus which you can use athletes foot cream on.
He doesnt have enough hydration, too dry.
I think it's one of the first two I mentioned.

Nothing white to rub up against in the pen and she is getting soaked a lot on hot days this summer, so she's pretty hydrated. The hide is quite gets dry though.

If the case of fungus, I'll look at some athletes cream that I can use or see if it fades on its own. Thanks @wellington!

Try lightly rubbing it off with a soft tooth brush in a soak. If it comes off, it's something she's rubbed on. If it doesn't try the foot cream.
