where can i buy coco coir for my russian tortoise?

ok im new to this forum and i want to buy my russian tortoise some substrate. people says that coco coir bricks and play sand mixed are the bet substrates so im planning to buy coco coir, so where can i buy some coco coir bricks and how much is it.

P.S how heavy is the coco bricks and is coco bricks expanded alone will be better or mixed with sand will be better.

You can get a value 3 pack from Petsmart for like 8-9 dollars. It only weighs like 2-3 lbs maybe not heavy at all. I would not mix with sand. I mixed mine with sphagnum peat moss but you can mix with organic soil or cypress mulch too.

Petco, Petsmart, or most pet stores =] Its not that uncommon especially if they sell reptile stuff.

You can probably get it cheaper from a garden supply store or online.

Good comments above. Coco coir comes in compressed, dry bricks that expand in water. They stay expanded after that, even when they dry out.

You can buy coco coir bricks from pet stores, but you can usually get it cheaper and more of it in gardening stores.
