I keep getting eggs from this female indian star. She never digs and lays. Always just plops on top of the substrate. Here is a video of her. These always hatch out too. So weird how some just don't dig. Outside or inside she always lays on top.

Not at all. Shes got a 10 to 12" deep nesting box in her enclosure. Even outside in her natural earth pen she lays them on the ground. Never seen her even try to dig. Its weird. But at least I always catch her in the act laying.

She knows you work hard and has lots to take care of. She's just trying to make it easy for you:D Glad they make it to be able to hatch.

My largest female YF always lays them on top of the ground too, however, she poops all of them out in the same pile, as if it is in a nest.

Not really. Shes 8.5" 6 almost 7 years old. Id assume she will one day dig a nest and lay in a whole. For now its super easy egg collection.

Good girl then!

Does she ever lay more than one at a time?
