I see everyone's lovely pictures of their pets, and then I go to take some and 9 times out of 10, I get this weird blurry unfocused shot. BLAH.

I have a Nikon Coolpix camera. Clearly, that's not great for close ups of hatchlings.

What does everyone else use? What are some tips for better pictures?

I have a 12 pixel Kodak Easy Share. If I partially depress the shutter button the camera self-adjusts, however, I still come out with some pretty blurry shots.

I have a Canon that I got a year ago. I can't remember which one it is, I'll have to look it up.

I use a Nikon D60, but there are some tricks may help out your shots! Turn on the flower icon (macro mode) if you haven't already. Also, place the camera on a flat surface, and use the timer function. This eliminates most of the camera shake!

I use my Nikon D40X exclusively now. With a few tricks of my own, I get about a 95% success rate. To put that in perspective, the slightlest blur is a failure to me;)
