Hello,
My old 3 toed female has been circling her enclosure and staring out of it for close to a week now. I was told this behavior could mean she is looking to lay eggs. I weighed her say 2 weeks ago and she was 453 grams, today she is 436 grams. 17 gram loss in 2 or 3 weeks, is this normal? I know ahe eats still, maybe notas much as before. But she is awake 24/7 lately. I will get up in the middle of the night and she is wide awake! I can flatten the coco fiber and within a hour she has made a track around her enclosure. I was thinking she wanted freedom as she is wild caught but this behavior is new. I dont think turtles have the brain capacity to focus on something like that for so long, do they? I am worried about the weight loss now since we just lost our hatchling.
thanks
cordell
can anyone tell if she is pregnant from a picture?
she also does what I call the invisible ladder. she gets up on back legs and attempts to climb up the side of her enclosure. she will do this in various spots of her enclosure. another thing I notice is she will sit in one spot for hours its seems and stare up. looking out of her enclosure. I am serious about the sleep issue, this girl is wide awake 24/7!
OK I tossed her in a super worm...she moved in for the kill, bit, killed and spit it out and went back to looking up???
