My little 30gram hatchling just loves water.
I soak her (incubated with high temps) at least once a day. Sometimes more.
I often catch her drinking or self soaking in the water dish. Literally, this little girl thinks she is an aquatic turtle!

Btw, I really need to figure out how to use tinypic from my phone. These small attachments just aren't cutting it for me!

My Leopard hatchling would soak himself and drink every morning.

She is so cute! Does she have a name yet? If not I suggest naming her something water related :)
One of mine loves the water so I named her River :)

Thanks all. She is my smallest little girl and a cutie for sure!

Her name is Corduroy. All my Leopards have names in a "pants type" theme? Lol

I don't know where it came from really. Thinking about changing it to be honest...

I don't want to raise false alarm, but keep an eye on her. I had one like this that became sick later (the vet suspected a bladder infection).

More likely, everything is fine and the tort just loves water!

Precious! My, her neck is so long! Make sure her water is cleaned out about twice a day, at least, since she's drinking and bathing herself so much. Glad to see a water baby.

This little baby scares me...

She hatched "June 1st" ish. I brought her home at the end of July and she weighed 32grams. A few days later on Sept 1st she weighed 30grams. Oct 1st she weighed 25grams (and had stopped eating, became lethargic). Today she weighs 22grams and the plastron is extremely soft and squishy. It's been a little over a week since I've noticed this happy, active little baby go from "herself" to a non moving, non eating, never opens her eyes, little shell that doesn't move. She feels extremely light and empty.
I house her in a tank converted to closed chamber with a hatch mate (who has doubled her size and gained 10grams) and with a small yearling who is close in shell length to the babies. I didn't want to house them as a pair. They get absolute spot on care. I raised another leopard smooth from a hatchling. I do presentations and education booths on how to implement the hot and humid method. I know there is nothing about my care causing this little cutie to decline. Diets are great, UV from God's source (the sun) a few hours daily.
I'm picking up some baby food today to start those soaks. I've been chatting with Tom about her being a case of "Hatchling Failure Syndrome".

I'm very sad. This is the baby my husband liked the most :(

Love the first pic with her neck craned out. Praying she gets better quickly. She's just adorable.
