Welcome! There is a huge reptile expo in October at the Puyallup Fairgrounds. Its my favorite in the area (largest?), the NW Captive Breeders Expo. You just missed a couple other ones though, the Emerald City Reptile Expo and Seattle Reptile Expo. I would recommend to consider a slightly older tort than a hatchling from a breeder. Think about re-homed torts (some call them adoptions). Torts closer to a year or older are much less fragile. Hatchlings can break your heart. There are some great pet-finder websites, Craig's List, animal shelters, reptile rescues, etc. I'd look up the PNW Herpetological Society and PNW Reptile Rescue to start. PNWHS has a PNW-specific forum you can try too. I've heard of Deer Fern Farms, Pacific Northwest Turtle Works, and Evergreen Reptiles to name a few. It is quite common to get torts/reptiles shipped as well. Done correctly, its very safe (overnight). Good luck! Don't rush into anything.
