Hello, my name is Alice and recently my SO bought some tortoises for our anniversary. This is their previous home that came with the previous owner.
We just upgraded their new home to a bigger tank and a new substrate. Hopefully this will do until we build an outdoor enclosure or get a big place.

Hello Alice!
I'm assuming the first picture is the old enclosure and the third picture is the new one. If that's the case then that really is a MAJOR improvement! However I see only two problems. The first is that both tortoises are not the same species. I think the one on the left might be a hermans. Not sure about the one on the right. Anyways, I don't think it's a good idea to house two different species of tortoises together, especially not in pairs. The second thing is the food. Not really sure what your feeding them but it looks like there is some fruit. From what I've read, I don't think your tortoises should be eating fruits. There's too much sugar or something like that. I'd suggest feeding some weeds and leafy greens such as dandilion, clover, thistle, rocket, radish greens, romaine lettuce etc. Here are some threads that you should read that could help you:

Good luck!

BTW, you have really cute tortoises :tort:

Canned vegetables will work in a pinch, but I suggest reading up on our care sheets for both species.
It looks like the other tortoise is a Russian.
I agree that you will most likely have to separate them and soon. Russians are seriously unhappy when there is any other tortoise nearby and mixing different species has other issues.
On the PLUS side. They both look pretty good!!!:)
