Well even though we got a late summer and it's going to be in the 80's
a few days this week I know winter is just around the corner.
Kind of looking forward to it and sort of not. Getting the barn ready for
my big tort (Tank AKA Mr. T) If I had my way he'd be inside too
with Tia, Edgar, James, Madeline, Hermann and Skittles.
However I am looking forward to a couple or three hours a day
in a comfy recliner reading and spending some quiet time in the barn with
Mr. T. Hopefully it won't be to wet a winter. I can handle snow, I can't handle some of the winters we get that are real wet.
What are some of you other northern owners doing to prepare?
I can only imagine my electric bill this winter with the heat/UVB lamps all
going.:D

When in the yard Tank will come stay by me. Comes right to me when I walk away.
Guess I'll have to keep a set or two of 'barn' clothes so I can sit in his stall and visit with him.
We have lights, heat, electrical outlets so we have a radio in the barn for the bunnies to listen to.
So between my daily visits, watching bunnies and listening to the radio, Tank should be ok.
I would prefer him in the house. Maybe next winter. I mean it's not like he's that big, he's only 70 lbs 'ish.
Maybe I can get hubby to add an additional room to the house next summer, a special tort room.
(hmmmm need to figure something to bargain with to get hubby to build a tort room of the house, he has been wanting a motorcycle hehe) :)
