Tucks Tail getting hurt by shell??!

hey i just got one of these things so i could ask someone abot this :
My Leopard tortoises shell is growing into his tail, its bad, what can i do? can i flie his shell down? when i got him as a baby he had a soft shell, but we got hime healthy again, i think thats why his shell is growing wrong, can anyone help? im trying to get a vet scheduled but it'd be nice to hear what i should do, or what i can do.

Yes, the shell can be filed down, however, I wouldn't recommend that YOU do it. Its best to take the tortoise to the vet and let the vet show you how to do it. Then if it ever needs it again, you can do it yourself. There is a blood supply inside the shell, just like in your fingernail, and you can hurt the tortoise if you're not careful.
