I read on here once that a lot of people on here keep them together....is that good or bad and is it safe. I have hermits and id like to gain some space so if I could combine them id be very happy.

Someone please let me know and give advice on it please :)

I do.

Honestly, they are not that great at scavenging compared to isopods, but they are nicer to look at. This reminds me that I really need to order some more isopods.

It will depend on the size of the tortoise, too, or the hermit crab could become a meal. Especially during a shell change.

A lot of folks keep them with redfoot tortoises. I have kept them with several species. They like Mazuri and those Marion red sticks, too. They will sometimes nibble greens or sprouts. I would provide them with a lot of soil. They sometimes like to go and stay underground for a long while.

I had to block off half of the new enclosure already.....someone....told me to mix sand into the dirt. I only did it on half luckily. I was just told it's bad. The hermit crab likes it though he us on that side.
