This tortoise box looks great!!!!! I am working on getting ideas for a new, bigger wood box for my tortoise which will be outdoors. Do you have any recommendations on what to use in order to weather-proof the wood?? I like in FL and we get lots of rain in the Summertime and I don't want the wood to rot.. Any advice would be appreciated!! Thank you!!!!

I place masonry caps :

on the ground first, then place my bottom fence board on the cap:

This also inhibits digging. I have the majority of the cap on the inside of the fence.

Not sure if you want suggestions for a box/hide or an enclosure like what Yvonne posted. For a box, I just use outdoor paint and then I lined the bottom of box with plastic and up the walls about 6 inches or so. Marine paint is another good paint to use
