Remember Jasper? He passed away from a respiratory tract infection back in February. Now that I've recovered, I'm ready to get another tortoise. We're getting a Leopard Tortoise (Babcocki) soon. And with a new tortoise comes a (pretty much) new enclosure. It's not done yet-still needs more dirt, hides, and plants.

Looks nice, but sorry, so very wrong for the proper way to raise a leopard healthy and smooth. They need high humidity, 80% with temps no lower then 80. That will be hard in a open top two level table. Please read Toms threads below on raising a smooth leopard. The sulcata threads also apply to leopards.

Oh, and that water dish is a death trap for many tortoises. Get a low sided clay saucer. I would also remove any stones that are small and could fit in a tortoises mouth.

It's very pretty. I like the idea and plan, but agree with the above. Definitely change the water dish. You could build a cold frame and cover the whole thing in plastic for holding humidity. This is what I did on my table.

I like the design, very neat!

Is that wood treated? From personal experience, I would recommend either coating it with something waterproof or covering/lining the exposed wood with a shower curtain/pond liner. We made a little wooden hut for my tortoise a while back, and it molded terribly :( I was wondering why I was coughing so much, and there it was (the enclosure is in my bedroom)
