Hello,
So I just noticed my tortoise has this white spots that he didn't have before. Has anyone experienced this, if so what would you recommend? Is it normal? FYI He recently came out of burmation about 3 was or so ago

It could be that he is shedding but @Yvonne G , @zovick , or @ZenHerper will be know more about it and will hopefully be along soon.

That's abrasion from rubbing on the shell. Just dab on a bit of neosporin and keep flies off it.

Do you know how I can prevent this in the future. He also has some in the front by he's toes.

How large was the container or box in which the tortoise hibernated? If it was too small, it might be that these spots are skin abrasions from the tortoise pushing up against the sides of the container. To prevent this, you should use a box or container that is large enough so the tortoise cannot get traction with its back legs against one side or end and push itself forward against the other side of the box.

It was plenty big when where he was able to move it was a tote. Do know if tortoises shed? I was doing research and came up with this as a possibility?

It's not shedding, it's abrasions from rubbing on the shell. . . digging in a corner, climbing the wall, etc. This happens a lot if they wake up from brumation and aren't taken out of the box in a timely manner.

Ok so just treat it with some neosporin should clean it with anything such as soap and water first

Do you like soap and water on raw spots? I certainly don't. Just make sure he's dry so the ointment can stick.
