Tortoise poop questions.

After a few days of having Axl (weeks ago) I saw him pee in his daily bath, carrot at the time since he wasn't eating. Since then I have not see another pee, or white urates (sp?) but I have seen a few poop pellets.

Should I be seeing this white substance since I have also read that a well hydrated turt will not have the urates? On the flipside, certain plants can cause it.

Or am I overthinking it all?
