We live in South Orange County California and are looking to add to our Tortoise family. any tortoise will do preferably an adult tort. we have one now and would love to make another burrow for his new little buddy.
Hi Noah: What kind of tortoise do you now have? In my OPINION, its not good to mix your tortoise species. This could end up with one or the other becoming sick or dead.
If you have a desert tortoise, there are quite a few up for adoption in some of the CTTC chapters in southern Calif
But beware, if you have a male, two males often fight pretty aggressively.
Its nice of you to want a buddy for your existing tortoise, but in the wild, tortoises are solitary animals and don't require the presence of another tortoise to keep them happy. Sometimes adding a tortoise causes friction and stress. They don't like having to share the best hiding places or the food.
Boy, I really sound like a wet blanket. I'm sorry, I don't mean to be so negative...but I want to make you and every new person reading the forum aware of possible problems.
