I've read that hay and weeds are good for a sulcata. When I get my sulcata I will feed him/her weeds, hay, and mazuri tortoise diet

Grass, weeds, dandelions, hibiscus, roses, grape leaves, opuntia cactus pads. Do you have a garden where you can grow things? Some items can be grown in pots. Some people plant grasses in flats and swap them in and out the enclosure. There are seed mixes you can buy that are designed to be great tortoise food.

No, they should not be fed cucumber as it has very little nutritional value. He really needs to be eating weeds, not cucumber and lettuce.

I wasn't feeding him it for nutrition I just thought he would like it because he hasn't been drinking water.

If you are soaking this baby daily for 30-40 minutes, as you should be, you probably won't see him drinking very often.

Here is what you should be feeding. Most of the foods on the list are not cheap. They are FREE!!!!

And this is just a little starter list. There are many more good things to feed if you will invest the time in learning about the plants and weeds around you.

I soak him every day in warm tapwater not too warm though. I cut grass Out of my grandmas yard and sprinkle it on his food. And sometimes slice of banana and all different kinds of fruits and vegetables that are allowed. There's this website telling you which ones are good and which ones are bad.

Please either use bottled water or treat the tap water
