1. Definite kinixys erosa
2. Well would say homeana but patterning throws me off a bit, some type of box turtle then?
3. Red Foot 'Cherry Head' form
4. Erosa again
5. Either a Galap or Aladabra but will go with the former, no idea on subspecies
6. Indian star
7. Radiated
8. I think pancake, but may be a S.African species
9. Yellow Foot

Hi,

#2 could only be homeana or erosa.. I mean it is homeana..
Why do you think it is manouria?

Sorry I looked at the wrong #. Sorry I think it is manouria too. :-D

8 I think is homopus signatus ;-)

Yes I think you're right about manouria. I thought about homophus for no.8, but isn't it a bit more colourful than usual for them? Mind you though, shape is wrong for pancake.

Just looked on google images, have seen some more colourful signatus to what I'm used to, so I think you're right.

Yes I also think the tortoise is to "high" for a pancake...

I think you're right about 2. 5 not sure, different to the subspecies of aladabra in Mauritius I saw, much wider face. While 9 does have red on the face, the scales are more like denticulate.

Attempting to ID from only "faces / heads" is difficult at best -- ya'll have done great.. I'll give 'full-views' as we go to help with this!

Redfoot.. is one of the ones that is unique in head patterns - always having a "tip-of-nose-color" that keeps the parallel bars, etc. from reaching the nose!

These head patterns vary dramatically..

See the difference in the Yellowfoot..

This will give it away!.. wait til you see the full profile, etc. - wish I had kept this one out of the group -

Greg will clerify #10 - for us!

#8 - From the Knoxville ZOO

#1 -

One of the most "STRIKING & UNIQUE " tortoise species I've ever kept..

Male-

Female-

Look at those front legs!

I call them African Jungle/Swamp tortoises - this is where they thrived and actually made eggs for me! Those are Rose-of-Sharon shrubs.

They averaged 7" ~ 9" SCL ! And went crazy breeding, etc. in 65 degree RAIN!!!

[ turn speakers up ] Holding umbrella with one hand and camera with the other.. a little shaky!

Well 12 is definitely SPP. 8 I agree with juli11, definitely from homophus, and probably signatus.
I thought you still kept your erosas? Did you really have them laying at 7 inches?
They definitely are cold and rain tolerant, mine have been out in 45 in rain and have been very content.

Lowest breeding I've seen from them was at 55
