tortoise eyes

hi there i was looking at some pictures of tortoises and i was wondering if horsefield tortoises eyes are ment to be plain black and no other colour thanks hope someone can help

I would think they should be black. Cloudy could be a sign of a problem. I'm not sure if there is such a thing as an albino tortoise, but maybe. Why do you ask?

i seen a picture of a tort and they had brown arround a black pupil but it wasnt a horsefield do you know how you keep parasites down on a tortoise???

I think if you were to look at your little Russian's eyes in a very bright light and with a magnifying glass you would see that there is a black pupil with a colored iris surrounding it.

To eliminate parasites the first time, it would be a good idea to have a vet do it. After the initial elimination, you can make sure they don't get re-infested by feeding them butternut squash or pumpkin about once a week.
