I just LOVE how you did your enclosure. It is SOOOOOO nice. I'm going to be making a NEW enclosure this weekend BUT I'm also going to make an outdoor enclosure for the tortoises this Spring. I'm thinking of having them outside from Spring to ahh say Sept maybe. Depending how the weather is maybe a little later but once it starts getting cold that is it they will come inside for the winter. :)
But yeah I LOVE what you did came out GREAT :)

Beautiful! Where do you live? Are the torts able to stay out all year?

Do they put themselves to bed or do you physically gather them by hand?

Most tend to head back to the hut ...as night approaches ...but there is always the "laggers" hiding out in their usual spot~....Hence I physically gather them up .. and do a head count ! :)

JD are you using a low growing grass? Mine don't graze on grass and I didn't want to mow. Does your grass have a name or is just a combo from over the years?

Kathy ..... it is a mixture of grasses and one I do on purpose on a constant bases. I have two areas that are constantly seeded with new "quick grow type grass" . usually marketed under " spot patch grass and or repair". The grass itself germinates very fast and the little tender sprouts are what the torts LOVE!.....Those two grass spots are the first areas ....the torts B-line too for their first am meal.

JD~:)

Love the grape vines, and I bet the torts do, too. That's on my spring planting wish list. Do you have it climbing a trellis or gate or something?
