Hello one of my baby tortoise’s claws is pointing up, it doesn’t seem to be hurting him when I touch it but was just wondering if this is something that needs looking at???908F146A-A117-4234-9889-47132A472E89.jpeg

Not sure cause but it is a hatchling . You may have to get foot x-rayed to check bone structure. There seems to be a lot if calcium powder over the legs and enclosure are you using lots? I just lightly dust in the food.

That's not normal. but I don't know what you'd do about it.

How long have you had your little one? Do you mind sharing where your little one came from? Have you noticed any yellow bumps or yellow spots on your baby?

The reason I'm asking is because we have seen a number of cases of yellow bumps on baby sulcatas on the forum lately. Some of those babies have also had issues with toenails. I'm hoping that isn't the case with yours, but we need to ask.

To start with why not trim the claw back(nail clippers)as far as possible WITHOUT making it bleed. At least will be less likely to catch on anything that way. When wet you should be able to see through where claw is no longer semi transparent and that's the NO CUT line.

Looks like a whole toe. Possibly check in with a vet. Is there something in his enclosure that he tried to climb on ?
